About Kokoda

At Kokoda Outfitters we hub out of the East Coast of Australia, and we feel genuinely blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world. We love the quality of life the outdoors offer; it's our excuse to cast, paddle, swim, surf, dream and interact in our beautiful environment.

As we all live down stream from somewhere, and as custodians of our environment we urge you to be active to protect this precious resource. As the world population increases and the footprint of humanity keeps encroaching on our environment, we need to be active about practices such as unsustainable commercial fishing and farming practices that use heavy chemicals which run into our river systems and heavily pollute our estuarine environment.

We're proud to fish. We enjoy catching and releasing fish, equally we like taking home a feed. Sensible recreational angling is the vanguard of our fisheries and overall environment, you could say we are the eyes and ears of the environment. If I'm eating out and there is fish on the menu I'll pick out a species that  I know is commercially sustainable - and yes there are plenty (see kokodafishing.com for sustainable fish species information).

We want Billfish in our oceans and not in pet food cans, and Tuna allowed the freedom to roam the world's oceans propagating in numbers. For our children, and their children, to interact with an ocean that's alive with life.

Fishing it's in our NATURE, it's where we'd rather be!

Ambassadors

Our ambassadors may not dress like professional race car drivers, nor do they refer to themselves in the first person (these are non-negotiable K-Ambassador requirements). To a man they're not one to beat their own drum, but all are world class anglers whom help us research and develop our product range. And they meet our most important criteria, for us to want to sit down with them and enjoy having a quiet beer together and talk all things fish.
